Illuminating Life with the Beauty of Calligraphy: The 2023-2024 ASSCE Student-Teacher Online Calligraphy Exhibition

For over two decades, the American Society of Shufa Calligraphy Education has been committed to promoting Chinese calligraphy education across the United States. We strive to introduce Chinese calligraphy into classrooms of all levels, from K-12 and Chinese language schools to univeristies and colleges, in various forms. Advancing Chinese language teaching through calligraphy education has always been the core of our mission. This exhibition aims todeepen participants’ understanding of the “three Beauties” of Chinese characters – the beauty of meaning, the beauty of sound and rhyme, and the beauty of form – as well as the cultural connotations behind the characters. Through the joint efforts of teachers and students, we hope to make calligraphy education an integral part of overseas Chinese language education, positive mindset education, and cross-cultural exchange.
