On October 19, 2018, Dr. Huiwen Li was invited as a guest speaker for the First Asian American Summit hosted by Saint Ignatius High School. With Ohio teachers Dr. Li shared his viewpoints such as

  1. Chinese calligraphy is treated as the core component of Chinese culture, and its beauty and value significance should be realized and promoted;

  2. Both the culture and writing skill should be incorporated in the American language and culture classes and broadly.

The Summit attendees expressed their willingness to take the responsibility of calligraphy teaching.
